Gentlemen, i always wondered where the name of the SPACE COMPAX has its roots - now i have read the most interesting story about the Bulova Moon watch, sold yesterday at Auction. http://www.rrauction.com/bidtracker_detail.cfm?IN=9001 And hey: same Reference number than the Space Compax, nearly the same serial number, same engraving, case and crown very similar to the UG !! What is the story behind? Did UG make watches for Bulova at this time, did they cooperate very close? Is this the 'key' for explaining the name of the Space Compax? Thanks for any help !! Werner
Thank Chuck Maddox (RIP) for his eloquent write up ... The SpaceWatch Race: Omega Speedmaster vs. Universal Geneve Space Compax
@Gatsby did you know that one my friend? see 1967 http://www.universal.ch/newsletter/en/details/didyouknow.htm
Thanks a lot, Andi !!! I thought that Bulova always had their own watches - and even after buying UG !! But now i read an article, which explains a lot: https://omegaforums.net/attachments/skärmavbild-2015-10-06-kl-07-11-55-png.161534/ This means that the Bulova on Moon was for sure an UG !! +++ All very interesting, but please one have to explain me the roots for the name: SPACE Compax !! Thanks so much!
