Folks - just came across another lovely connie.. this time its a broadarrow connie from the 50s - 2852-3.

The seller is asking for 1.1K USD. May i kindly seek your advice on this piece, please. Is this a reasonable price to be asking esp in this diffiuclt environment.

Many thanks in advance. I appreciate your assistance

WAY over-polished (you can´t even see the the 8 stars on the case back and the crown lost the gold cap)...

On the 2852's I thought we would have a cross-hair dial on - 7SC onwards as well but the specialists are going to confirm that (can someone explain me the thing with the "dots" vs "rectangles" on the 5 minutes marks??? please)

Anyway I believe everyone is going to tell you to hold on your 1,1k for the time being. Search a better example...

Agreed. Case is very polished, crown needs to be replaced as the gold is worn through, and some of the stars on the medallion are mostly gone. Be patient and you’ll find better examples at that price.

By the way, these aren’t referred to as “broad arrow”, but rather “arrowhead”. Broad arrow refers to a specific style of hands on other references.

This case is polished, yes. But you should judge that based on the condition of the lugs and the bezel and not of the medallion. I've got in my possession very sharp Connie cases with medallions like this one, which have deteriorated simply out of daily wear. In fact, nobody in his right mind would actually apply a polishing wheel to the medallion.

Note well taken! Cheers mate

Could you (or someone else) elucidate me regarding the dial? Mostly de dots on the 5 min marks (when were they replaced by the little rectangles) and the crosshair dial (where did I read they were present only on the -5 ou -7 SC case onwards 👎).

Thank you in advance

PS: regarding the OP's question I guess we all agree that for that kind of money he could get a better connie... "Time" is on his side now IMO

And to sharpen the point even more finely, "large arrowhead"

as opposed to "arrowhead" or "shark tooth" :
