Congratulations

A very special and uncommon dial - one of two seen to date.

You’ll have to decide whether you leave the case as is or remove the tarnishing to make the gold bright again.
If the latter, just make sure you do no more than a light rub with a jewellers’ cloth ( no polishing!)

Cost is fleeting - the most important thing is that you like the watch and we’re happy to spend the money on it.

And definitely post good pics when you receive the watch.

I think I will leave the case as is. I also like the way it has worn.

Very nice watch, congrats. Looks to me like a deluxe model with a 18k dial. As to the crown, I am not sure if it is not original to the watch. Here is my 14382 SC-3 with a similar crown:

Ok, we might need some experts to advise whether the crown "can" be original to the watch.

One of the friends here has an exact same looking watch, and it comes with the decagonal crown.

I believe that the correct crown can be the thin decagonal (upper) or the thin scalloped crown (lower).

Ok, we might need some experts to advise whether the crown "can" be original to the watch.

as @qazwsx1 illustrates, the standard correct crown is the thin decagonal and the alternative, accepted, correct crown for this reference (and less commonly, some doglegs) is the thin scalloped crown. (and this latter crown only because there are so many of them as, IRRC, there are no contemporaneous sales pics of the reference having the thin scalloped crown )

Any other crowns are deemed incorrect replacements - and a quite understandable reasonable replacement at service as the thin decagonal crown looks great but is a pain to use.

I'm on the hunt for a crown as well so I'm sharing my research. Based on the Omega charts I've found, ref 14381 uses the 42055 crown which is the decagonal crown used in a lot of Constellations including my 168.005. Per Desmond's blog, other references for that crown are #4204, 42004, or BestFit BF 8100/1080.

https://omega-constellation-collect...omega-constellation-crowning-glories.html?m=1

Unfortunately, decagonal crowns are no longer produced so people are using the alternatives. The alternative for my 168.005 14k gold is BF 8100/1664Y. However, ofrei says the alternative replacement crown for 14381 per BestFit is BF 8100/1134 (upper middle of ofrei's page).

Obviously, everyone is searching for the decagonal crown because it's the original. If anyone knows of one that's available for sale, please let me know. I have a WTB post up as well.

Thank you very much for your input! That will save me a lot of time! I'm approaching my 200-post mark, and I will post a WTB after that!

Well bought at $2500. This is a rare dial configuration and the dial appears to be in great condition. I’ll gladly take it off your hands if you experience buyer’s remorse 😉

I totally agree with @Vanallard and wanted to write the same including the dibs 😀. I would have bought instantly at that price if I had the chance. Yes the case is overpolished and if it was a regular 14381/2 I would have passed, but the star here is the rare dial, which is in great condition. The case can be swapped if you find a nice donor further down the road. Well done, congratulations.

You know what, I found a perfect donor 14381/2. Listed for 2600 currently. It even has the original 18k buckle! I saw people listing these 18k buckle alone for 600+!
But I don't think I'll swap the case for now. I really like the patina on this case.

Not sure that's the perfect donor, looks pretty polished, too. And I'm very sceptical about that dial...

Agreed and you’d be right to question that dial....👍
