In the market for a used but well loved Broad Arrow. Seems that I can source the original reissue, the Coaxial w/ date and the 2015 model for about the same range... as low as $2500 for a 1998 to $3500 for the 2015.

Unfortunately unable to try them on but am familiar with Speedmaster profile in general. Are the Coaxial models thicker? Is it easy to put more of the oyster bracelet style of the 2015 on the early reissue models? Not crazy about the newer flashy bracelets.

Aesthetically, I love the mid-90s-2000 the best, the Coaxial with date (four line) second and least, the 2015. Just not crazy about the red 1957 on the face. I want a combo of the best deal, the best fit for my style and the best investment overall for future value.

Any help, advice or leads is appreciated.

I appreciate the pointer. Also looking for some real world experience with the models and the differences between.

He doesn't have the minimum 200 posts, plus it sounds like he's not sure what he wants to buy yet

The 3594.50 is manual wind with a plexi crystal, and is the closest of the three to the original. The other two are automatics and are fairly similar from a wear standpoint.

The 3594 also features the 1861 movement which will be far easier to have serviced by independent watchmakers in the future

3594.50 in my opinion is the best looking one, and their pretty inexpensive. I don’t know how much value they will have in the future, they seem to be common.

I had the 3594.50, it was the piece that started my affair with vintage speedmasters. I really loved it, except the case was a lyre lug. That was why I started getting into the straight lug speedys.

My 3594.50 developed a corrosion issue on the applied metal logo, and a lot of examples on the net have corrosion on the hands, be careful. But other than that I think it's a lovely piece.

I thought that with the 60th speedy being released the 3594.50 would decrease in value, but I think that the 60th helped the 3594.50 increase in value instead. I got mine for mid-2k around 2 years ago, now I see them for base 3k.

Some pics to sway your mind ;)

And it’s a strap monster! Great looking example you have.

I’ve seen corrosion on some used ones. Is this is a random thing or a climate related issue?

Thanks- Most 3594s come on the desirable 1498 bracelet as well. Watch out for those! It's also a bracelet monster!

I think it is a combination of climate and randomness. I can't draw a causality because I don't know if examples on the net have been to humid climates. But in my experience, my hands were fine; just the logo was affected.

The 33X3 versions are no thicker than the 861s. I have one of the later 1957 versions. You used the word ‘investment’ I wouldn’t think I those terms. Non 321/861 Speedies aren’t great investments. No offence to the guys in this thread but the ‘Replica’ 861 BA model (Omega’s description not mine) isn’t a great investment either in my experience. No broad arrow hands Speedy other than the 1950s original ones has ever been a great investment including the recent 60th LE (as yet anyway) Mine

this might be my new favorite. the 60th anniversary edition slightly trumps, but more expensive.

3594 is my first (and only) Speedie to date. I had it narrowed down to either a new Speedie, FOIS or 3592 with tritium.

I was drawn in ultimately by the beautiful Broad arrow hands and steel bezel in the end and fortuitously a 3594 popped up on the forum which I quickly snapped up!!

Have the bracelet but never worn it so far and rotated various straps and nato. Total strap monster and a beautiful watch.

Haven't seen the new 60th anniversary in the flesh but does look nice. I couldn't stomach paying double for it though, even though it is more accurate to the original. Not so keen on the faux patina on the new model either.

That may change as my omega speedmaster knowledge grows and I become more of a purist.

    Some pics on different straps I've been playing about with :) : 20180414_165352.jpg 20180414_165348.jpg 20180414_165305.jpg 20180330_184712.jpg 20180330_184706.jpg 15328966362334600922908430417339.jpg
