·This is my second time selling a watch on OF, and my third time ever selling a watch. I've been a member here since 2016, but naturally have little to show in terms of references. I guess many here have been in my shoes once, and I'll go out of my way to be as transparent as I can.
I purchased this Breitling Cosmonaute 809 (108xxxx serial, 1966) 3 years ago, and have worn it for special occasions since. I find myself wearing it too little, and would rather have someone else enjoy it more than I do. This is the "twin jets" iteration that was produced from 1964 onwards, with the 'milled edge' bezel.
- Dial: small mark around the 'r' in the Breitling logo, otherwise clean with nicely faded lume
- Case: some scratches and dings consistent with its age (1966), otherwise sharp edges and bevels
- Bezel: bi-directional, turns well and isn't too loose
- Crown: turns smoothly
- Crystal: the domed acrylic crystal really sets this 809 apart. In great condition, most likely original.
- Movement: Venus 187. Keeps time accurately
- Hands: some marks in lume plots, otherwise good condition
- Strap: aftermarket racing green suede strap
- Production: based om the 108xxxx serial number, this watch was produced in 1966
- Service history: unknown
- Price: €3.999 net to me, ex shipping
- Shipping/import taxes: I am based in the Netherlands. Willing to work with the buyer to pick an appropriate shipping method.
- Trades: will entertain some specific trades, strong preference for full sets
* Trade up (so me paying the buyer op top of the trade): Rolex Explorer II 16570 polar dial; Sinn EZM 1 (or 1.1)
* Trade down (the buyer paying me op top of the trade): Omega Seamaster 2538.20.00 Great White GMT; Orfina "Porsche Design" Military 7177; Doxa Sub 300t Carribean
- Disclaimer: I am a starting collector, not a watchmaker or professional dealer. The above is to the best of my knowledge. I will allow returns if the watch can be proven to be not as advertised upon arrival, but not in case of buyers' remorse.
Please see the photos below to get a better idea of this Cosmonaut's condition.
Very willing to answer further questions and share personal information by direct message in order to win your trust.
Should anyone think anything in this listing is incorrect or incomplete, I'd be happy to receive your DM and correct accordingly.
Thank you OF for the space!
