Thank you all for your responses, the reason I'm asking is because a fellow watchmaker claims the crown is not authentic, however I acquired this crown from jewelry store over 25 years ago, long before forgeries became something common.

maybe the watch maker meant to say the crown wouldn't be the correct one for a certain watch you were thinking of using it on? Just like with Rolex, the easiest tell for a fake crown is the lack of "sandwich" construction.

Real deal for sure. I have seen both Certina and Zenith crowns from the same
maker.
