For sale is a Breitling Chronomat Reference 769 As I recently have a week full of incomings, I have to let some go again. This time, regretfully, I have a Breitling Chronomat Ref 769 with the Venus 175 on the chopping block. The Chronomat is released in 1942 in a huge event for Breitling as the chronograph to have the slide rule. The sliding rule was patented (patent no. 217012, as seen on the dial) in 1942. The same slide rule the legendary Navitimer would use as well. Dial: Amazingly preserved dial, honest as it can get. Lovely different sectors reflect upon the light. Radium lumes have been checked and everything intact. Amazing condition for a 1940’s watch. Case: I tend to believe it has not been polished in the past; chamfers are sharp and visible as you can see in the pictures. Excellent case condition given its age as well. Hands and Crown: Both original, signed crown, blued hands, and a very nice dash of red on the chrono hand. Movement: Venus 175 Case number: 682523 Case size and thickness: 36mm and 12mm Lug width: 18mm All functions working, service history unknown, recommend a service for daily wear. The watch is keeping good time. Overall, an amazingly preserved watch as a whole, as honest as it can get. The patina of the lumes and the sharpness of the case really show how this 1940’s watch was used at the minimum. Check out the pictures below to see the different looks on the dial when reflected at certain angles with the light, really an amazing piece. Watch located in Jakarta, Indonesia.
