!! Update !! - I took my watch to one of the Omega Boutiques in London and fortunately they had an in-house senior Watchmaker who was able to adjust the chrono hour hand while I waited. 😀 So no need to send to Omega in Bienne. Really happy with that result as the current wait time for a service/repair at Bienne is about 9/10 months!!

I'm in the UK and I have a misaligned Chrono hour hand - when it's reset - it rests at just before the '12' position. Noticeably off centre (approx. 2 mins). Really bugs me. 🙁 Is it worth sending it back to Omega in Bienne for rectification - or is there a risk it will come back with other problems? It's a November. 2020 watch, bought a few weeks ago on the 'Grey market'.

That was fortuitous that the OB was willing and able to crack it open and adjust the hand while you waited. Now you are all set.

I agree! I would have thought that the 321 movement would always need to go back to Bienne, but obviously not - as long as the OB has a highly trained Omega watchmaker on site. 😀

It's a very pedestrian chronograph movement, so no special skills required. Any competent watchmaker can work on them.

According to Omega's marketing, the 321 is a mythical movement that can only be worked on by specialist that have drank from the Holy Grail. Not like Omega would fluff up their marketing for us.

Does anyone know if the new Ed White bracelet will fit one of the original Ed Whites?

From my research it sounds as if the new case is the exact same size and specifications as the original. If that’s right I’m assuming the new bracelet will work on an original.

Has anyone seen this done?

Al, what is your opinion about whether Swatch will restrict parts for the "new" Ed White 321 movement -- even to independents with an Omega parts account -- to force owners to have the watch serviced by the Omega mothership?

Back in 2019 when this was first announced, there was a chorus of voices claiming that Omega would open up access to spare parts because of this new movement. I was skeptical at the time (and said so) and I had good reason to be. Nothing has changed.

There were always some 321 parts that were available to watchmakers with parts accounts, but that number has not increased at all...

The parts that are available are primarily parts that are also used on more recent movements - for example the third and center wheels for the "new" 321 are the same that are used on the 861 and 1861, so really they sort of have to make those available unless they want to do all the 861 and 1861's (and their derivatives, so 1863, 1866, etc.) in Bienne. They wouldn't have capacity there to do that, so that's why these are available.

I'm on the waitlist and hope to have it "soon." To those who received their 321, any impressions of how it presents in person vs pics? Any pleasant surprises or perhaps not so pleasant.

Compared to most Speedmaster pictures vs the in the flesh watch, the Ed White 321 comes over as a more polished execution than what the pictures suggest, you won't be disappointed once it gets in your hands.

I was wondering this as well. Seems like it would fit....

Very well put and I echo this, when you see the ed white in the metal it sort of feels like going form HD to 4K definition. Very hard to explain.

It's been 3 years already. Wen 2998 lollipop reissue? Photo taken from Davidoff Bros.

😲😲😲😲😲

I am not a huge fan of the lollipop on the 2913 seamaster but oh my goodness, that looks incredible on a speedy.

Anyone send their Ed White for service? Any idea how long it should take?

Mine had a piece of lint I was able to see via the sapphire caseback. It's off to Omega but I'm under the assumption that the service takes longer than other Speedmasters (I sent another one in for service and had a ~12 week turn-around time).
