·I would never fit a 19mm on a 20mm. The gap is too big for my taste.
.1mm to .3mm is visually ok to my eye. I'm sure respected mfgs are even tighter.

·Supposedly, the gap on flat-links is .3mm. Looks bit too large for my eye:
