I bought a grey/orange 166.072 memomatic last week, and I think the bracelet is not original and probably not even Omega (unless they made an H-link type but I don't remember seeing similar). So that bracelet will becoming off, and I need to find something to put it on. So can I ask any memomatic owners to post up pictures of there preferred straps/bracelets for a bit if inspiration.

Original bracelet is, I think, an 1170 with 618 ends. Although, in this advertising picture it seems that this case style (unlike perhaps the "Pilot" style one) was just as happy to be on a nice strap.

Congratulations on the catch. It's a great watch - functional and technically interesting.

not a Memomatic owner but given the era and the size a grey rallystrap would probably slot right onto that.

you could probably even run with some orange stitching.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I almost always wear watches on leather straps, but somehow the case shape on these seems to suit bracelets better so I might go that way. Would be nice to find a correct one so perhaps time to go looking for a 1170/618.

If I go for leather, then colour matching the orange is a bit too contrived for my taste. I know that picking out bright highlights looks good, but to my mind it ends up making a vintage watch look like a modern watch. It might pick out a more subdued colour though, like the gray from the dial or the lume. I have a Sherpa Graph with strap stitching that pickes up on the tachometer-ring colour and I'm happy with the overall look on that one (I think using red thread to pick out the lollipop hand would have looked too much).

And fingers crossed it is a Sinn bracelet... that way it might even pay for it's replacement 👍

I like the Hirsh carbon fibre in orange, to match the decor on the watch

That does look great, but a bit to bling for me.

How about this option? Of course historically not correct, but i like the colour match...just a dash of orange is missing on the strap.

best,

Stefan
