Bracelet or strap for vintage Seamaster yellow gold

I have this gold Seamaster from 1968, serial number is BA16650000326360065
It has an 18K gold bracelet which is nice, but a bit "too much" for everyday's use...
I would really appreciate some experts' opinion on possible alternatives, either leather strap or bracelet, that would be appropriate.

Thanks a lot for your reply and totally agree! Being completely ignorant on the topic, may I ask what I need to look for to identify the right bracelets, that fit properly with my watch?

you need to find out the model of the watch then you can know which bracelet is fit. I guess BOR bracelet 1036 with 11/511 endlink would fit.

I don’t see how this bracelet is “too much” gold but another gold bracelet wouldn’t be. Additionally, if you get a gold plated steel bracelet it may cause damage to the watch case over time.

Your best bet is a leather strap. You can find some on the Omega website or on the websites of hundreds of other strap sellers. If you search in this forum you’ll find a range of recommendations.

Thank you so much guys. Could someone help me figure out the model of the watch from the number BA16650000326360065 ?
Googling around, I was able to figure out that

BA = gold
1 = gents' watch
6 = self-winding center second
6 = water resistant calendar

But I get lost after that.... any pointers in the right direction?

That gold bracket seems to be very rare, suggest keep it for the valuation.

The only 'right' bracelet that will fit with your solid gold watch would be another solid gold bracelet, so if I were you I'd go the leather strap route. Very thin midnight blue reptile will work well.
