Hello folks,

I own an Omega Constellation reference 168.0058 from 1972, which is an inherited piece.
When I received this watch, it was fitted with a bracelet that fits well visually, but the lugs don't quite match the bracelet. The bracelet therefore tilts slightly. This is a) uncomfortable and b) leaves marks on the lugs.

I have had the watch overhauled by an independent watchmaker so that it is now presentable again. The watchmaker pointed out to me that the bracelet halves are aftermarket and therefore do not fit the watch perfectly. The clasp, on the other hand, is original. The code on the clasp is 1237/223.

With this information, I went to Omega and was told that they could offer me a replacement bracelet with the reference O022ST1162172.

I believe that this bracelet will NOT fit the watch. According to my research, the strap O022ST1162172 has a lug width of 22mm. However, the watch has a lug width of 20mm. My assumption is that the clasp is original Omega, but did not originally belong to this watch. Omega probably determined the new bracelet reference based on the code on the clasp and therefore offered me the above bracelet. However, 22mm definitely does not fit this watch.

Does anyone know which original strap reference with 20 mm lug width belonged to this Omega or what a current matching reference number of a new Omega bracelet for this watch is?

Thank you and best regards,
der_blub

Did you ask Omega if they could supply a bracelet for the watch? They will need the reference number of the watch itself, not the bracelet.

Hi Dan,
I gave them both numbers, the gave me the new bracelet reference and told me to contact a boutique or AD to order the new bracelet. The boutique then told me it has 22mm (which a quick google search confirmed). So I assume the info previously give was wrong as the watch has clearly 20mm lug width. The boutique was not too much into details about vintage watches, to be honest. They told me to bring the watch and they want to see what they can find out.

My point is: I have a bracelet that fits somehow but not perfect. So, my aim would be to have something really fitting if I spend now another few hundred bucks…

Best regards,

The reference list indicates 1163 with 702 endlinks.

Thanks!
Do you know if this bracelet also has a new version with a new reference number?

No idea. That's information that an AD should be able to provide. You just need to find the right person who is actually willing to make some effort. Maybe you should go in person.

I will do that. I also wrote again to their service center. Let’s see. I currently wear the watch on a mesh strap because I want to avoid the case from being scratched again from the bracelet.
