Hi all,

The diver extension on my Seamaster 1910/930 bracelet has failed. I’ve an option to source a clasp for a 1613/934 bracelet at a reasonable price. The clasps look the same and I’m thinking that they may be interchangeable. I’d be grateful if anyone can confirm, based on their experience, if they can be interchanged. I’m assuming I’m not the first to consider this!! Picture of the watch included to improve the post!!

Does the clasp you are thinking of buying come with the connecting links on the sides or just the clasp and nothing more?

I own a 1910/930, but never a 1613/934. They look to have the same removable links so my guess would be that it would be compatible.

When you say your divers extension failed what do you mean? That it won't stay secured and flops open every time you open the clasp? If yes, I had the same problem with a Bond SMP of the same era and I epoxy glued the extension arms to the clasp so it wouldn't open at all. I used high strength 3M epoxy. I can't use the divers extension anymore but I never used it anyway so I don't care. I did that years ago and have never had a problem with it.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The clasp I’m considering buying comes with the connecting links on both sides. At least one of them has the same reference number (32S) etched into it so I’m optimistic that it will fit the 1610/930 bracelet. In terms of your solution - I agree, holding the extension piece in place is a good workaround and, as you say, most of us never use the extension anyway! Thanks again for your time. I’ll probably buy the clasp if still available.
