I hope not to waste anyone’s time but I’m toying with the idea of buying another mid 60s Certina DS.

I already have, and wear regularly, this very nice automatic and thought I’d just check out the forum before I made any move elsewhere.

Looks like a nice watch. I just have to ask about the Mark at 7. Do you what is going on there?

Thanks, it’s always an anxious time before it arrives but that mark may be some sort of copyright marking. Here are a couple of better shots of the face

and of the movement and caseback

I’m hoping that the photos pick up detail invisible to the eye of the wearer. That’s certainly what happens when I photograph one of my watches for WRUW.

Thanks for the interest.

These are amazing watches and still under valued IMHO. Over the past couple of years they have doubled in price so you no longer pick them up for a song but they are still cheaper than Omega and Zenith which are in the same category from a quality standpoint with solid in-house movements. I still kick myself for losing out a few years ago on a solid gold certina art from the early 60's that was in mint condition. It was €330 and I made the mistake of trying to negotiate a lower price. What was I thinking????

I’m hoping that I now have two of these, both similar in appearance, one an automatic and the other a handwind. I sometimes worry that I pay a little over the odds but, as we both know, with vintage watches it’s what’s available at the time you’re looking.

The thing is moving from picture to picture so it seems to be little whatsoever in the space between dial and crystal

I think @Passover may be right, but should be an easy fix. Congrats on the new watch!

Don't worry about price if you paid a little more, these could very well go up in value just like Zenith did over the past 5-6 years.

I had a pre-DS that I had serviced and gave my son a few years ago. He now wears it proudly. I didn't know much about them but my watchmaker raved about how good Certina's movements were. @sneer had a couple of beautiful Chronolympic chronographs that he sold this past year and one of these is on my wtb list.

😀 😀 😀

Phew - thanks guys - not sure if my leg was being pulled or not but I had a couple of anxious moments along the 'did I really miss that' lines.

This pic is a big blow up of a different watch (the one I’ve bought is now off-site unless Chrono24 has a ‘sold watches’ setting) and confirms that the mark seems to be on the photo not the watch.
