    Hello!

So I have been shopping around eBay for an Omega Constellation to start my Vintage watch collection and stumbled upon this beautiful example. According to the seller the dial is original factory dial and has never been refinished, the crown was replaced, and the watch was serviced recently. The seller sells only vintage watches but I am still doubtful of my purchase. I still have 14 days to return but really hope this watch turns out to be an excellent example. I have been searching around an reading about this watch but haven’t seen any like this one. The ones I have seen have a case back that matches the case itself. I am also wondering the condition of the movement itself? Any feedback and advice would be awesome! Thank you!

What makes you doubt the watch?
    It’s a gold cap 14393.
The case back is correct - only solid gold Connies have a gold caseback.
The case has seen some polishing but still quite sharp.
The dial has some bubbling but looks right otherwise.
Presuming the serial is 17,xx it’s in the correct range.
The watch has been ‘prepared’ for sale.
The lume on the indices has been removed.
The case back looks as though it has been polished to remove scratches or pitting but sharp medallion.

As long as you don’t mind the bubbling on the dial - nice Connie

    As above all looks correct.
The bubbling on the dial wouldn’t be for me but some people don’t mind a little “patina”.
You still have 14 days so plenty time to give it some thought.

Thank you for the reassurance. Either I didn’t do enough research or I was confused someone where along the way. I am glad that all checks out and I definitely find the watch beautiful!

The bezel appears to be cracked at 6.

I'd want to see this in hand to dunks check the "automatic chronometer" text.

Only that the watch looks shiny and new.
Marks in the rear have been (nearly) polished out.
Nothing wrong with that as it is often appealing to buyers.
To be fair- this watch has had its crown changed (a good point if it was an incorrect crown) and serviced.
Collectors usually like to see an old watch looking it’s age - so less chance of being fiddled with.

No it's not , as @STANDY mentioned that is the crystal retaining ring/ spring . That is ok.

    Good hunting

Thank you everyone. I have talked to the seller and he confirmed that it is the crystal ring. Amazing the knowledge this community has! Now I wait for the watch to arrive
