OK, I knew it going in that this ref 2900-1 didn't belong to the 18,4xx,xxx cal 268 Geneve movement fitted, should have a 266/7 around 15,000,000...

...but its in fab condition and works for me.

Good call! We can't get too carried away with "investment value", I'd like to think we're all into this because we love watches, and thats a relly nice watch!

There is big difference on a seasoned vintage watches collector/ player buying franken and a newbie buying it.
We always try to steer away newbie from buying franken or redial because they mostly will regret their purchase later when they know better.

For the seasoned player like you Norm, even your franken still make me jealous.;)

And that's exactly why many of us are here among other things, to educate the newcomers to the hobby (sport?) of watch collecting.

Hmm, nice watch! I should have bought that 30T2 RG in a US Army engraved case, back then... You're making me regret as I'm not seeing many 30T2 RG around these days.

    You know what you have.
    The case is almost "NOS"
The dial is original and rather mesmerising
The movement I assume is not a Mumbai special

    I'd have it in a flash :D

Lovely watch. A lot of posts on here are about seeking out NOS watches which are rare and fought over, and generally stored away lest they get scratched. That's just hoarding. This is a watch you would be proud to have on your wrist, that looks great and that will not break the bank or hearts if it picks up the odd scratch. 99.9999% of people wouldn't know if it's franken or not.

This dial is sublime... And I think it works well for me too, especially in this case.

It's a keeper for me. Best part is that nobody is going to know unless you tell them when it is on your wrist. That is the best part of ownership anyway, wearing and enjoying.

Thanks so much for your honest share! I think as educational as being able to recognize a Franken! Still love mine (unconfirmed ) and yours is beautiful. Congrats!
