Unfortunately their terms and condition (US) state that all statements in the catalog...
ARE QUALIFIED STATEMENTS OF OPINION AND NOT REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES. (Their shout)

Furthermore you can only give back an item (within one year) if the BOLD part of the description is patently false.

So in the end, if you buy in auction (no matter if Bonhams or wherever) you pay a hefty premium for having to do the work yourself.
At least thats free on Ebay and you get more pics and Paypal gives back the money if there's the slightest problem.
(but make no mistake ;) , I don't buy on Ebay for more than 750$)

Sold for £6,000 incl buyers premium, which might be OK as a parts watch - the bezel looks quite good, and if the bracelet and case are reasonably tidy (difficult to see in a single straight-on pic), then it might be worth that and some. But it's worth keeping an eye on this serial number - 20522782 - in case it turns up on the 'Bay in a little while with a service dial and described as "100% original"...

But ignore the other saying "buy the seller".
