It's just wild they finally made a video game James Bond watch, could you imagine if they did a homage seamaster colors, to the N64 one back in the day!?

I suppose they'd have to do an orange and blue two tone bezel and a green dial. It would probably look terrible, haha. Otherwise it's an extremely loose interpretation of an SMP, given the technology of the time.

Absolute classic omega move 💩 just keep on churning out watches nobody wants. Seems to be the way of late. They seem to be doubling down on the oversized, thick watches lately, almost to spite its customers who keep asking for slimmer smaller watches. If only they’d return to their 60s era elegance

This is just a different color option for the current existing Seamaster chronograph and it shares all of those dimensions, it's not a new generation of Seamaster.

I'm told my Panerai PAM01731 is a big watch at 44mm but this new behemoth from Omega makes my PAM seem like a tiny dress watch, I'm sure that a 47mm Panerai would still look small in comparison.

I'm sure that some people will be overjoyed at this launch but not me, sorry Omega.

Hard pass for me too. First of all it's THICKER than a ProPlof considering the nato!
The dial is weird with all these colors (black/white, bronze, red), and the asymetry is not working here according to me. Plus the caseback is really basic, this watch is light-years away from the NTTD...
Edit: And the ~53mm lug to lug is a joke

Ah ok, fair enough. 😃I’ll still stand by my moan though. Still holding out that they’ll release something around 36mm one day 🙏

Never say never but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. I think if they were going to do a more svelte diver they might go to a 39mm but that's about it.

Absolutely agree, not holding out for a 36mm diver. As you say 39mm would make more sense. But I’d love to see another 36mm Aqua Terra.

Their new observatory models should’ve been closer to 36mm as well…

I’ve never fussed about large diameter watches but I find myself having an aversion to excessive thickness.

I went online to look at a Nato strap for my NTTD and the strap that is sold with the watch isn't showing as being available anymore. Has it been pulled? Actually, I think it's BS that the strap didn't originally come with the watch as a standard accessory when I bought it new. I know that comment has been made here multiple times before. The current price points have driven me away from my Omega "wishlist" and to look at other brands. I've been itching to add another watch to my collection. Originally I was after a Bond 60th anniversary, but now I'm leaning towards a Grand Seiko SLGA019.

Typical Omega fan: making no effort to understand what is happening.

It's not a new watch. It's a version of an existing model.

Somethings wrong when this watch is thicker than my Ploprof.
I think it's because it's a vertical clutch coaxial.

The 300m Chronograph has always been thick and big, it's just the design. My 2225.80 is the same thickness. TBH, it's not as noticable as you might think. I have a smaller wrist, but I only notice the extra weight when typing.

Yup. bought this one the other day. Don't care about the size. Still love it

As it wasn't thick enough, they add a two layer nato strap on the bottom.
Bond goes bulkier than ever (and uglier).

I’ll give omega this. I didn’t know much about the 300m chronograph until now and don’t own any true dive watches, but some of these would fit nicely in my loud watch subcollection.

Thinking about it this way, the First Light colorway may be a bit muted for me. I’ll have to find opportunities to handle some in the flesh to have any clue what I’m really talking about.

Starting to over due it with all the Speedy releases IMO. I wish they would slow it waaaaay down.

But... there are no Speedmasters in this thread...

Worth mentioning the game First Light is out in 2 days on May 27th, PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S & Switch 2.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/007_First_Light

It has a very high bar to reach, GoldenEye 007 is still the game that made N64 special for so many, I remember as a kid playing it after coming from Wolfenstein 3D, Doom & Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold and thinking... wow this is photorealistic gameplay.

Now you look at it and it hasn't aged as well as I remember it with the low res textures and wonky weapons but at the time it was scary good.

Given the amount of effort they've put into marketing it, and Omega's involvement, they're clearly hoping to get some of that N64 generation to give it a try, looking forward to the reviews.
