Morning All(from dull Dorset,UK),

I’ve recently bought a Speedy Sapphire sandwich which I love but in certain lights all 4 corner smooth polished(not brushed) shoulders have buffer marks showing as if it’s had a hasty polish and not buffed properly!!! I wonder what you’d suggest to Polish/remove the buffing marks as it’s annoying me!!!
I’ve tried Hagerty stainless steel cloth and it’s shiny but still there.

thanks
Si

You should be able to fix that with with a hand polish. Just be patient and try to avoid rounding the edges.

Some cape cod should do the job. You can find them for under 10$€£ and they last quite a while

Yeah, those are a bit rough, as above, Cape Cod cloths (available on Amazon), are your friend, you can apply with a cotton bud for a bit more control.

Bear in mind that it will still have micro scratches, but should remove that marring

I’ve got a tin so I’ll give it a go, it won’t ruin the finish will it?

I know there are a lot of fans of Cape Cod cloths, but I'm not one of them. For these scratches, I'd start with Simichrome, which should remove the scratches and leave a hazy near-mirror finish, then use Mother's Mag to remove the haze and get a mirror polish. Both available at auto stores.

Change of plan now as the Dealer I purchased from has agreed to get it done professionally by Omega(Southampton), at his cost!! Sorted

Tape off the brushed parts! An of these polishes will make the brushing shiny.

I would suggest taking the watch to your watchmaker. I have tried Cape Cod on one of my Speedmasters and the supplied cloth leaves microscratches after application. Pretty sure any decent watchmaker can do a better job with suitable tools.

Excellent! If it's actually done by Omega, and not some bloke with an Omega sign outside of his flat, then it should be done right and will look the business.

Yes, I watch lots of BBCA. LOL

Best of luck. Great choice in watches, BTW.

Cheers
