Those of you with these stuck in a safe cos they're too valuable to wear...Maybe it's time to sell it and go for other objects of desire. There really has to be a ceiling at some point for these....

The main reason for not selling one of those today is because you simply won't get another one, as good as yours, anymore, ever. :taunt:

If you’re in the room. This was sold to an internet bidder where there’s an additional 3.6% charge.

    Total price of £90528.

    It just beggars belief.

There been a lot of talk about Lot 202 which was the 5513 worn by Timothy Dalton’s Stunt double in Licensed To Kill.

That fetched £54k. Which, again, I just don’t get it. So it has a great deal of provenance - but £35k worth of provenance ::facepalm1::

I wonder how much would it have gone for if it had a black dial?::confused2::

What's your guess? More / less?

I believe that rather beautifully aged chocolate dial is responsible of an important part of that final price. :)

It doesn't surprise me any more when something really good (and sometimes not so good) makes megabucks. Wealthy collector sees it, decides "I'm having that". End of story.

makes you wonder if watch auctions are run like art auctions, when the dealers inflate the prices themselves

What I was watching, with a view to bidding, all went for more money than you can buy from the better known pre owned watch sellers. ::censored::

I guess there are too many people that get caught up in the moment and forget about the 30 odd % buyers premium that goes on top.

I'd be interested in seeing you find me a comp for this on the market at a better price.

I guess European Watch 2998 1 with the lollipop and working and a warranty isn't too far off!

The lunaroyster watch is very, very attractive but has real degradation around the lume markers. The Fellows watch is on another level of quality, I believe

Do you mean those spots? Was wondering what they were...not some type of ‘stabilization’?
