This thread needs more vintage vibes...

 

my very recent acquisition - it was love at first sight, unfortunately!

 

I recently acquired this 260th Anniversary model. Although I don't need a dress watch, I wanted the Moon-Phase complication and my wife liked the guilloche dial. The wife liked part made this all possible. I've since ordered new Blancpain strap in brown to go with the Rose Gold case.

 

Wow Wow! this is amazing, looks very classic. Is this the one with annual calendar?

I'd love a Fifty Fathoms, new or vintage.
A bit concerned about the size versus my wrist, but...

 

Very cool piece. What year/vintage is that one? I was not familiar with their rattrapante.

With regard to the annual calendar, I'm not certain but I don't think it is. I'll find out when we get to a month with fewer than 31 days.

 

Let's hope there is a jump to 1st when the month is less than 31 days

 

Tomorrow is the moment of truth. Will it indicate Monday April 1? On April 5, will it indicate a New Moon?
These are the questions that keep me up at night...

The Blancpain Rattrapante (Cal. 1186) in the initial post is from the 1990s. It is small by today’s standards at 34mm. However, I find that for dress watches 33 - 36 mm work for me.

Thanks for sharing so many great pictures of BP watches. They are all beautiful time pieces. The moon phase immediately preceding this post, for example, is drop-dead gorgeous. Thanks again.

Newest acquisition. One problem the bezel needs to be put on it’s at the watch maker now. The inner groove has worn quite a bit so the clip is having a hard time holding the bezel on. But with fingers crossed I’m hoping for some magic to happen. But anyway here is a few pics. Please let me know what y’all think. TY
