So I was watching this one just out of curiosity (now completed). Went for over $10K without a case back!

ah, but it gets better. If you dig into the seller's "sold" listings, you find this from several days earlier

Buy it now for $195.00. If only...

Must have been a listing error. But imagine his reaction seeing the numbers climb at auction...

I hope someone bought it and told him to do an auction. It’d be nice to hear a story of someone being that decent.

Although, I do really enjoy hearing stories to great deals - sometimes it’s almost robbery.

Probably a listing error.
I'm always on the fence about letting a seller know- nobody likes a hall monitor. Yes, we don't know the sellers situation, maybe they could really use the $10k and were uninformed when they found it at a garage sale- nice for someone to let them know they had found treasure. But on the flip-side, in this era of easy internet access, just typing in "Blancpain" or "Aqualung watch", or even "vintage diver watch" would give you all you need to know in 20 seconds. Caveat venditor.

Whatever happened, we all understand that the watch is rare and quite the treasure. Now, where do you find a case back?
