Black rubber strap on AT with brown shoes?

But seriously.
I have rubber straps on most of my watches as I live in the tropics and am outdoors active. I wear them with brown dress shoes or boots when going out or for dinner/dress events. A rubber strap does not necessarily need to look like a rubber strap. Have a look at the RubberB iUnique straps under 'universal straps for all watches'. I have a couple, one brown and a grey, and am very impressed with these. And these may be more suited for your brown shoes then the gumboots are matching your black rubber strap. 👍

Also if you feel you must, you can put a black AT on a brown leather strap. I change the strap on mine a lot. Here's bracelet, brown leather, and aftermarket rubber which is a knockoff of the newer rubber style and a couple others.

What brand is your brown leather strap? from Waccex?

Throw out those brown shoes and switch to burgundy unless of course you're wearing a brown suit, but why?!??

I know I might be a bit too "traditionalist" but wearing any kind of brown strikes me as "just wrong", unless perhaps you're wearing jeans, in which case woohoo.

I am not sure about a rubber strap with a suit. Maybe a swimsuit, or perhaps a rubber suit?

I got into watches when Covid started. Early on, I saw one potential strategy as buying a big collection of cheap fashion watches that provided the perfect color and combination match to all my clothes. The more I learned about watches the more I fell in love with horology and the art of watch making. Now I have a three watch collection - 2 Omega for business and most non-business events as well, and a Seiko for working out and beating around in. I wear the two Omega every day and love them and never ever give two thoughts to matching my watch to my sport coat, sweater, shoes/socks, belt, or anything else.

That is not true. I care and I will judge you, if your leather strap does not match your belt and shoes.

I am a bit more open for other materials but would still not wear a black rubber with brown belt/shoes.

lol to this post.

I will do a little e-bragging. I’ve been told several times that I’m the best dressed guy in our “nice business casual” office. I do put a lot of thought into matching colors and patterns in shirts, slacks, and sport coat (or sweater). I also try to get a generally close match to belt and shoes. And, of course, the most important thing is to make sure you have the right fit, everything is pressed well, and your shoes are clean and polished.

as for matching my watch strap to shoes and belt, I absolutely don’t give a crap and maybe 1 in a thousand colleagues would notice that and judge you on it. And I don’t give a rip about impressing those people anyway.

get a watch you love and enjoy it and wear it with love

I was with you until you said no on matching the watch strap to your shoes. If you match to the belt you should match to the shoes as well. Unless your going colorfull.

Black rubber is sport… brown shoes not so much.

rose gold on black rubber should never be worn as dress…

Just get a neon pink strap, it will look ridiculous with anything you might wear. 😝

Am pondering a black dial AT 41 mm with a black rubber strap for my everyday use watch (to be worn with a suit and blue jeans, etc). I often wear brown shoes though so I’m hesitant. Any thoughts are appreciated. The steel bracelet glossy finish on Omegas seem like they’d scratch easily.

Thanks.

If you have the wrong sort of shoes you can land on your arse. There are YouTube channels to guide you if you want the right sort of style.

There are rules to this, and the first rule is:

You wear an Omega Seamaster. You already shown a great deal of style and class, you are the cool guy that makes the rules, not follow them.

Second rule: Wear Hublot only with clown shoes.

I wear my 2254 on black rubber with black, brown, tan, flip-flops and steel toe work boots because it sooo comfortable.😀

IMHO, the same color leather only applies with casual or business clothes and with real leather. On the other hand, in the tropics, you have more flexibility to wear black rubber with brown shoes. An example is the opening sequence on Casino Royal.

It's pretty well documented Mr Bond should not be an arbiter of fashion.

He wore an old dive watch on an I’ll fitting striped nato with a tux.

And a blue diver to a fancy dinner, iirc

Why are you locked into black rubber as the only option if you don’t want to wear the steel? Yes you can do whatever you want these days but that doesn’t mean it looks good. I would never wear rubber with a suit or formal clothes.

For most men who have to dress up for work or other functions we automatically match shoes to belt color without thinking about it…because it looks good and it looks put together. I don’t see a lot of men walking around the office with different color dress shoes and belt.

Why is the watch band such an obstacle for so many? Just buy black, brown, & tan (and any other color you like) leather bands with quick release and swap as needed to match belt/shoes. Simple easy solution, looks damn good, and changing bands makes a watch feel new/different. If you have an allergy to leather you can buy Hirsch performance straps which are leather with rubber underneath.
