Black face vintage omegas

Hello, I haven't posted for a while due to illness, but am back looking for a nice black faced vintage watch again.

These are on eBay from a 100% feedback seller. They look genuine, but what does the number 083 mean on the face?

They are restored, but are they still good for my collection?

Thank you in advance for any advice or views.

Do not go near these with a barge pole. They are utter fantasy redials worth peanuts and often the guts of them are junky too.

Frankly, if you think they look genuine you have a lot to learn, they are very obviously not remotely so. Black dial vintage Omegas are a minefield of fakes and redials. It is the deep end of the collecting pond and infested with sharks. It is much safer and easier to start elsewhere, or it is must be a black dial pick a model where the intricacies are well known such as the Speedmaster.

I’ve posted about these before. As Padders says they are complete junk. The seller takes trashed watches and replaces the dials and hands with aftermarket parts before polishing the watch and ‘servicing’ the well worn movements.
They have zero collectible value, do not look like any genuine Omega Watch and somehow sell for multiples of their actual worth due to the hyped up description etc.
I wouldn’t buy one for £50.

Terrible dials. That font looks too big for the watches.

Always be extremely careful with black dials.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I realised the dials were repainted, but I thought the movements looked genuine and the Seller seems to sell them at high prices and gets 100% positive feedback!
I will avoid them and keep looking for more genuine examples!

You didn't post photos of the movements, but it's very possible that they are genuine. And obviously there are people who buy these watches and understand what they are buying, so they give the seller good feedback. If you fall into that category, we're not stopping you. But if you come onto a forum of Omega enthusiasts and ask about watches like that, you are going to get the type of feedback you received. Very few people here would ever consider buying a watch with such a poorly repainted dial. They offend our senses.

Here's an unmolested black faced Globemaster from my collection for some reference in future searches.
