Time to run the gauntlet. This is as found, no cleaning. Please comment pro and con. Original dial or repaint? See anything amiss? Over polished or not overall? lots of serifs, silver paint, crystal has a few scratches(and logo) but no scratches on dial. Omega bracelet, 1068 #12 on buckle case back So, good example or time to study some more?
Thank you and relieved.....the dial is a knock out, none of the spotting or lacquer peel so prevalent. So, is the back correct, recessed into the back?
Did you know in advance and paid the appropriate price? I think it's ok if you're happy at what you paid.
The back is certainly correct on the outside. I believe there is a good chance the reference information on the lower back is out of focus and therefore not showing. It could also have been omitted due to a production error. In any event I believe it correct. I own the exact same model.
Mine does not have the reference number like your example above, but it does have the circular "scrape" like yours. Did you change the Automatic Rotor Axle?
I could not reconcile how a counterfeiter would go to so much exacting trouble and not put the reference number, which to me would be the easier part of faking one. I poured over monodec's great Constellation site and always came back to his mantra about Omega, some things just happen for whatever reason. I scrutinized each letter and marker under loop and came to the conclusion it was genuine. But I am far from an experienced collector hence my wanting to Run the Gauntlet.
