Recently noticed something that is very interesting in my opinion.

I have stumbled upon a couple of 2998-4 in the serial range 17.764.xxx

Both examples appear to have a case-back with particularly asymmetric bevels compared to standard examples.

If anybody happens to have noticed something similar or can provide insight would be much appreciated!

Extensive polishing due to previous gauged caseback (you know, the famous scisors marks...).

interesting find. it does seem to me that it's not a result of over polishing.

Same here a few more 2998-4s that come with this big-bevel case back and two of the three below with serial 17.765.XXX. Also one from this thread a few months ago: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-speedmaster-2998-4-value.143835/

Notice some similarities like the hard stamp on "2998 - 4" and the more centered perlage polishing inside the case back.
