If there is anyone out there thinking of bidding on this Constellation please be aware that it is a 'mix and match' and definitely not original:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331522281092?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I asked the seller if he could supply better photos of the internals - but he said he 'didn't have the tool to remove the caseback' - strange that some watch dealers never seem capable of opening their watches!! Anyway, apart from the worn rotor bearings (scuff marks visible) the case is from 1966, the movement (20 million) is from 1963/4 and the dial does not have the 'Officially Certified' script which puts it at around 1960/62. It is being sold with box and papers dated 1970. So it's a right old banger.

    Dial was badly refinished.

Yes, you're right about the dial - I never really got as far as to examine the dial as the rest of the watch was so poor.
