I was disappointed when, after losing out on a .99 auction by one bidder, I missed out on a cool watch from him. After seeing it back up for sale at a higher Buy-it-Now price, I got suspicious and looked at the history of bidders on his items and discovered there were a few private feedback accounts that seemed to win a lot of his auctions and that they'd be put back for sale right after. I confronted him and he admitted he was shill bidding. At first, he defended himself by saying that he had to shill bid because he would be violating German law if he sold merchandise far below market value. Then he just sort of tried to shrug it off.
