This seller is listing a beautiful early Valjoux 72 806 on ebay. Problem is that pictures are lifted from a July 2013 sale, and watch is verified in the possession of a European Brietling collector. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171725875358?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
before it's reported are you sure the European collector is not placing it for sale through this seller?
Yes. He has confirmed possession and no intention to sell. http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=57346
OK, i just reported it. but it has a few bids already so not sure we'll stop it in time unless there are a few other reports
Just a question of keeping good databases. Plug in the serial number and up come the previous sales for that piece.
On the previous occasion in 2013, it sold for $8100, so perhaps the swindler-seller was hoping for a comparable result and used Mr. Shill Bidder to pump up the price -- to the benefit of the loser in this case.
That's how they get (((you))) ... The euphemistic you. It gives them a chance to put the shine on you by private messaging which is much more personal. And, an opportunity to use the favorite weapon of all confidence artists: they make you feel empathy for them and get you on their side. "It turns out that the high bidder was...blah, blah, blah; lie, lie, lie...". Good work, LouS !
