Anyone selling in this area should be aware a friend of mine was just scammed via Ebay today. He met a guy in an Epping coffee shop after an email saying he'd like to meet up and do the deal etc etc. After being paid in cash and walking to the bank, the guy snatched the money back and sprinted off, retaining the watch. I think it was around £5k so pretty painful. Police are reviewing CCTV etc and will be contacting Ebay for any account info etc. If I get the username i'll pass it on. The guy was mid 30s and of Greek/Mediterranean appearance. I've done this many times myself as I'm sure plenty of O.F members have as well.... it really pays to be vigilant.
This is good advice, cuts out the risk of walking any significant distance with 5k+ of cash in your pocket.
If you have any details of the watch (or eBay post) you are able to share, would be happy to keep a look out from my end. In case the watch resurfaces on the market.
It doesn't matter where you meet, bank or coffee shop, North East London or Washington DC. It happens everywhere. Sorry to hear about this..
