·My Grandfather was on the USS West Virgina and the USS New Mexico both battle ships before WW2. A few photos. My Dad grew up as a kid in Hawaii when his dad was station there during the 1930's the dependents would come over by civilian ships. There were only two hotels there in Honolulu at the time now that was the time to visit Hawaii not many tourist.
When he went over the equator there an initiation when you go across the first time.
