I was inspired by this wonderful article on the history of the Lemania 2310:
    https://revolutionwatch.com/the-complete-history-of-the-amazing-lemania-chronograph-calibre-2310/
and I thought I'd ask the community a play along and do a "would you rather" choice among some of these watches. I know, I know, it's not fair to compare some of these watches that are vastly different price points. But imagine for a moment that each of these grail level watches are yours to choose from. Which do you prefer? Also, if you prefer another amazingly beautiful manual wind column wheel chronograph with an exhibition caseback, please share! (for example, the A&L 1815 !!)

    Here's my top choices:

I didn't post a photo of the Roger Dubois, but it's also amazing. To be honest, I think the history of Speedmaster actually means enough to me to consider it over the some of the other options. Precious metals don't mean as much to me. But you have to hand it to PP and the others for some very fine hand finishing!

I am increasingly attracted to the maison Breguet. The shapes of the case and dial differ from all watches on the market.
However, if I had to choose just one, then I would miss my Speedmaster ::love::

I’d be happy to own em all. My wife on the other hand would gut me.

For me, it’s between the Speedmaster and the Patek. If I could only have one watch I’d go with the Speedy. As part of a collection in which I already have my 3861 I would add the Patek. Beautiful dial and movement finishing. The Breguet is gorgeous but not my style.

When I first got interested in really proper watches, Breguet immediately grabbed me: classic style and unparalleled finishing. The palm hands ("Breguet hands"), a secret signature, hand-turned guillochete patterning on the dial, coin-edge fluting on the cases, etc. I don't think any company does this as well as Breguet. Plus the history of the greatest watchmaker of all-time Louis Abraham Breguet adds to the mystique for me. Only downside for me is the long straight lugs which extend out and look funny on my wrist (approximately 15cm wrist).

The best 2310 is the one that's on your wrist :D
An example in 14k gold, back when it was known as the CH27, circa 1945:

Absolutely stunning! Love it! Wish these classic watches had exhibition casebacks to view the 2310 in full glory!
