A new addition to the Planet Ocean line in the same mould as the Deep Black GMT, this time in a dark blue, which in actual real world photos looks similar in its reflectiveness to the Grey Side Of The Moon and seems to almost turn silver under certain lighting angles (check out the lower half of the case and lugs in the image below of it). I do actually like this a lot particularly because of the orange running through it as well that really harks back to the big vulgar and imposing divers of the 1970s which a lot of us have a great deal of love for. I was never really smitten with the deep black but this colour scheme in ceramic just looks like something else entirely.
I have tried on the Deep Black GMT and despite the thickness is wore quite well for me. I owned the PO ti 45 mm and to me it was such a nice looking watch (note, the Gemini 4 is the best ever and the ti was a very close second, and yes, Ash, u should have never sold yours), but the thickness forced me to sell it. I might be able to get behind this one (on the used market) if there is an alternative for the strap, as it has too much orange for me. But as I write this, I am thinking about the Blue Blancpain Fifty Fathoms I owned and if I had a choice between the FF and this Blue ceramic, I think the FF wins. I guess I will need to wait to see how these look at the OB.
Dont like the new full blue color...my Black version is just on top of the Deep Black versions . Glad i have the Black Deepblack PO.
Thank you for the pics. I had to keep looking at the pictures because I asked myself why on Earth would they make half the case silver and the other half blue.
You might be giving them some ideas...heck, now we might have dual colored ceramic cases coming to Basel 2018.
Did the color blind executive at Omega with a long history at the company OK this one? this is incredibly ugly .. upside is if you own it, you could camoflage it in a bag of skittles as a theft deterrant.
I looked at more pictures and the crown looks terrible.. as if a little child aspiring to become an Omega watchmaker drew a crown in blue and orange crayon. Just like Rolex Subs unofficially get names like Hulk, Kermit, Smurf.. this one should be informally dubbed Avatar or Skittles. OK enough bashing from me..
On the plus side, hopefully people will see the new keying on the caseback and think "well maybe needle nose pliers aren't the best idea" unlike the previous square notches. There'll always be someone though.
Only if the employee at the factory lines it up correctly - he/she has a one in three shot of getting it right.
I know I'm the odd man out here but I actually like it. I'm never going to buy it unless I win the lottery and already own every other watch on my list. But it's fun and cool looking. I always love blue and orange together. (Orange and black still rule though)
If it was not 45 mm it would be perfect...I don't know if you saw the winter Olympics 2018 PO which is a 43 mm I believe which is much more convenient to wear...
