I'm in Yamba, NSW. I know what you mean about G-shocks... I could have tiled my roof with all the G-shocks I have uncovered.

Cheers for the heads-up, that might be the go, I have had work done by TheWatchCulture in Melbourne before & I lived in Amsterdam from 2000-2011 so was even considering getting it serviced there as I'm back visiting soon. But a Perth based Omega expert might be the ticket.

Great find mate! You struck gold finally. I love those barn find watches and stories, reminds me of my own when I found my -69 on the local classifieds.

You will be in for a surprise I think, your watch should clean up very nicely!
This was mine in as found condition and after a clean/service and new crystal:

Wear it in the best of health! And good luck on your future hunts!

    Cheers,

    Max

Wow congrats on that amazing find. The thrill of the hunt is the best part up until u strike gold. All that rummaging, browsing, digging and then you see part of a familiar case - it’s always the case - one that you should recognize because you’ve seen it countless times on other people’s wrist, forums, blogs, online videos. That’s when your heart skips a beat. Still, you’re a bit skeptical. You’ve been in there too many times before to allow yourself to hope. But hope springs eternal in this game. You get at it and bring it out into the open. And you see the perfect dial and suddenly its...

Yamba, eh? I’m heading to northern NSW next week and might have to poke around some more of the village shops. Maybe there’s a rich seam of barn find Omegas in the area

I wouldn’t call it showing off either - this is exactly the type of experience that shows these types of finds are out there!

Fantastic find - and double bonus for the birth year!!

Moon case back and do I see a metal brake on a 32m? I wonder if that coincides with the crown change. Metal brake late -71’s are not exactly common. Although it could be from a service. I’ve got a feeling this is earlier then 73. I think there is a lot of out of order on the 71’s.

Silver tension ring is wrong but I like how they look personally. As noted easy fix with correct crystal.

Nope. Wesseling in Alkmaar would be your best bet. But nowadays only service to Omega specs .
