I have seen period adverts with that bracelet - I can't remember for certain, but I believe it was on a Rainbow diver, so should be period correct. It is found on Multi-Centerchronos for sure.

A flimsy bracelet like that on a rugged dive watch? Nah.
I also think that style of bracelet is too early for this model.
Can't find the story through your link. I believe there to be only a small chance that such bracelets were used on circa '60s divers. The Multicenterchronos were made for ~15 years prior to the subject watch, so they aren't relevant.
