Bad scuff and scratches on clasp

Hello group, picked up some scratches and a bad scuff on my Seamaster 300 clasp. Can these be buffed out at home or should be taken to a watchmaker for buffing?

Well, it depends..

If you are someone who likes a pristine watch, then take it to a watchmaker who can buff it out for you.

But know that this will continue to happen if you wear the watch and do anything other than staying on the couch. If you can, learn to live with it.

3000 grit sanding disc, very gently in one direction lengthwise with the brushing. Then get some clear PPF film and put over it. Purists here make fun of me for doing this, but all of my watches have PPF on the clasp and are pristine.

I think you would want to polish out the damage and then rebrush it. If you're a DIY person, you can probably do a decent job. The polishing part will be easy, getting the brushing consistent takes a little practice.

Personally, I'm not sure I'd bother. You are going to pick up desk-diving marks regularly.

Thanks! Think I'll get over it and move on....

That will come out using my method, mine was about that bad and two minutes cleaned it up.
