The skies of Darwin would be amazing right now, jealous as. For those lucky enough to be nearby, ensure you go to the open day and mini air show!
Daughter sent a few more of the Red Arrows opening the "Tattoo" https://www.facebook.com/EdinburghSpotlight/videos/10154496564039416/

Bit late in the piece as I've only seen this post now, but I was in the crowd that day and I have to say that this display was hands down one of the best displays I'd have ever seen. The individual passes with each aircraft's sounds was sublime... The missed approach of the Hornet at the end, not one set of dry underpants in the crowd guaranteed
Love this thread. Got to see the Blue Angels this week in Seattle Out on the water, a great view with Mt. Rainier in the background. Another shot Flew down to California this week, was able to fly over Mt. Rainier. Then went to the Reagan Presidential Library... They have Air Force One, an old one there....

How about a video? Low resolution, but Tex Johnson was the man! ("Absolutely non-hazardous." lol!) Here's a good quality still:
That barrel row was in 1955, prior to my birth, so no photos. Heck I think my parents were probably in grade school at that time.

A personal story involving me and that particular Air Force One (the one on display in Simi Valley): I drove a car in President Reagan's motorcade that carried part of the White House press corps back and forth between the Executive Terminal at the Salt Lake City airport and a Republican Party event in downtown Salt Lake City (this was in 1982). Part of my assignment included driving the car (a station wagon) up to the base of Air Force One's front stairs (the same plane shown in @kurtj29 's photo) where the President would exit the plane and the photographers could get a shot of the President waving before descending. I positioned the car such that the photographers could pop the tailgate and then stand on the tailgate to get their shots. I got the job because I was working at the time as a paid campaign fund-raiser for one of our local congressmen, Dan Marriott. Here's a photo from the event that I drove the White House press corps to. Congressman Marriott is standing behind the podium, and of course the President. image credit: www.deseretnews.com
