Pure luck - I found the right version steering wheel for my car. Locally and priced accordingly. The original has been missing from my car since the 70ies. These very early R107: s had this kind of steering wheel and it will be nice to clean and detail it before fitting it.

This is where it is going - replacing the somewhat stockier steering wheel mounted there.

Once again I am cluttering the thead with the more mundane rather than porn...

Raining a lot here today and that got me into cleaning and detailing the above non porn steering wheel. 50 years of dirt and dust disappeared.

I agree. For a pedant like me, who likes to 'be sure,' I can't help but be annoyed with the owner for substituting centre caps without the distinctive S signature. But for all that it's a wheel that suits the car extremely well. 😀

This one literally took me by surprise. Hardly had time to whip my phone, which explains the crappy photos. but I couldn’t help myself, you don’t just usually see a McLaren Senna driving down the street.

Came across one in a Microsoft Store while walking through London. Must have been a Forza Motorsport promo. Dark blue. Not impressed

The first and only other one I saw was on the floor at the Mecum auction earlier in the year.

The carbon weave could be seen through the paint.

It was sitting next to an Acid Green 918

Better than a "regular" E30 M3?
Quite possibly.

The E30 320is is a special 3 Series model that was sold exclusively in
Italy and Portugal in order to take advantage of the reduced taxes in those
countries for cars with engines that displace two liters or less. It is powered
by a 1990cc version of the four-cylinder S14 engine developed by BMW
Motorsport for the E30 M3 and also shares its close-ratio Getrag gearbox with the e30 m3.

At that time the modified S14 had the record for hp output/ CC for an atmospheric engine.

would not say better as the e30 m3 is an exceptional car but it’s different and you see less of them.

Brad, I struggle to read the Senna as an actual, usable motor car. Porsche, on the other hand, has always had this incredible knack of making cars that embody practicality alongside their often phenomenal performance attributes. Interestingly, I see that at the recent RM Sotheby's Palm Beach sale, a 993 GT2 made $891,000, whereas a '19 Senna achieved a paltry $847,000. Another case of Pork being so much more appetising than a Mac?
Gratuitous GT2 pic, (not of the Palm Beach car mentioned above):

I have seen one parked in front of a famous Parisian hotel, and I found it ugly as hell. The long tail they just presented however looks very cool (and I have no interest whatsoever in Mclaren)

Oh I'm familiar with the "Italian M3". I love them, to the point where I may even like them more that the ACTUAL E30 M3 (hence my comment).
I'm just a sucker for those boxy fenders though, they always get me!

Totally agree. And that's why I was so surprised to see one, and of in all places my neighborhood! It seems as if the Senna only exists at car events and in the garages that they are kept hah.
We have a local McLaren dealership about 15min away from my house, so you see plenty of the "other" ones.

Definitely not a pretty car. but Function > Form in this case lol.
