Another weekend, another breakfast morning drive. This time, with a bunch of air-cooled Porsches, some 100km away for some local fare. Food was okay, but the purpose was really just to get some sun. Didn't expect a 930 Turbo to turn up! Enjoy:
Welcome "gear heads" here 3 of my 4 private owned bikes. In order to be faire - i own and run a bmw motorbike dealership with an own custom departement.
Great vid of Magnus Walker and his 911 on the mostly deserted streets of LA. No commentary, just the soothing sound of the 911.
Am using the 120 at the moment. First decent day in ages so, changed filter and oil (13 litres!) and went out for a run. These are genuine 120+ mph cars and hence the name. Must've been like flying in 1949 but, of course, not quick by modern standards. She does idle at 450 rpm which is nice and will pull smoothly from that rpm in top all the way to her top speed. Here's the 120. Great place to work. Rev counter runs anti clockwise and speedo clockwise. There's a nice symmetry to the dash with 3000 rpm straight up on the rev counter and 70 mph on the speedo straight up as well which is where they sit in 4th. I suppose your Healey had a Moss gearbox like the 120? Synchro only on 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Slow changes on this and a bit of a howl in first. Bringing back memories?Satisfying to use though when you get it right Cheers, Chris
