Gee whiz…went to a local Ford dealership cruise event today driving my beloved 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt GT [to my left with the hood up in the pic below]…tried to get a pic and a new Ford GT did the old cock block maneuver. On a positive note, my Moonwatch did not get cock blocked…see ridiculously small red circle…

I know, the beautiful pre-war 540k Autobahnkurier took best of show at Pebble Beach but these 60s thoroughbreds make my heart stop every single time 🥰

Porsche-356-C-05.jpg

My sweet 356 C. Sadly I sold her a year or two ago.

Life isn’t all bad though, I replaced her with this:

The 911 is a fast, open, great ride. The 356 was a mellow, sweet old friend. Different cars altogether, but to be honest the 356 was the better driver.

I want a G body Targa really bad right now.
Well, I'd REALLY love a 964 Targa, but that ain't happening.

In 1968 these were probably the most technologically advanced mass production cars on the planet. Front disk brakes, independent rear suspension, and electronic fuel injection.

Not a lot of them left that are still FI hah.
But I'm looking forward to learning about carburetors...I think!

Look, I'm planning to buy this car this week, when I saw it, I immediately fell in love. It belongs to the father of my co-worker in employee monitoring software development.

I have zero (ish) car knowledge but this week was asked to lend my very limited muscle power to help fit a new windshield (without the proper tools of course) in a 1959 Rover slowly being restored. It already runs which is impressive. I loved the air con controls / more like a Spitfire cockpit :0) The workmanship and materials on these old cars is impressive and I saw some familiar brand names. Should be a stunner if it ever gets finished.

Any guesses as to the owner of this? Besides the wing and the lack of rear doors what else is non-standard for a 1967/68 848cc Mini Van?

Ooops, forgot to provide the answer. Here we go...

Other non-standard items on this van are Cooper "S" wheels, which because they have a different offset to the drum or 998 Cooper wheels means there has to be "S" suspension & brakes behind them. And, I expect, "Why don't we drop in an "S" engine too?"

German day at a local event, last day of car fun before another lockdown here in Brisbane but was a great day with a great turnout. While the 300SL, the GT2RS and 3.6 turbo are cool, the turquoise green 993 C4S manual was my personal favorite

The BMW Coupé! 🥰

A great engineer was Bruce Maclaren and an underrated driver. Like with watches motor racing in the 60’s and early 70’s were periods of great innovation.

A fun day yesterday at my sister in law's. A very fortunate neighbor dropped by with his toys. First with this...

My wife clearly enjoying the moment! Then he went back home and came back with this!

Bruce had the good taste to wear a Heuer Carrera 3647S.
