Gentler folk and someone I asked to snap a pic from his ride
The Ford behind Aston in the bottom picture looks like an Aston Martin prototype. Ford bought Aston Martin so I suppose they have the right to do this.

Thanks! Yes, Squamish, BC, Canada is an amazing place to live. Adventure outdoor sports, mountains, ocean, great coastal mountain highway, Whistler ski hill 45 minutes away. Pretty good!

I wonder what's under the tarpaulins? British 1950s I think.

I've wondered how a Model 3 would do with a "proper" suspension set up.
Stiffer spring/damper, stiffer roll bars and maybe a little additional bracing....
An AWD version with the above and some sticky tires may actually be ok lol.

Pic stolen from KW website...

Oh hi… I happen to own a Model 3 Performance on proper suspension. Mountain Pass Performance coilovers (made by KW) and billet front upper control arms that get me -3° front camber, still on factory sway bars as I generally am not a fan of big bars on the street and this is my daily driver. On my AutoX setup (19x10 wheels wrapped in 265/35/19 RE71Rs) this car is an absolute monster and it has been fastest car on the property at 4 of our first 6 AutoCross events this season.

I won't lie I'm impressed lol.

The event the video is from I set fastest of the day, ran home swapped tires, dialed suspension back from full kill mode and left that night for a 1500 mile round trip down to Tail of the Dragon. The mountain pass performance billet front upper control arms make it really easy to swap back to street camber when swapping wheels via shims. I honestly can’t think of a dual purpose weekend racer/daily driver I would rather have currently and the aftermarket has some high quality options.

Since this is a photography thread attached are some pics I bought from Killboy on the dragon.

Good job. And also good job to the Miata guy not that far back with a completely different setup 😁

(And so much for the Porsche GT guys haha)

As cool as I think that all is, I'm just not sure that car can make it on my shortlist.
I was going to replace my 2015 GTI at the end of the year, but with the car market right now I may continue to hold out (I really have no reason to get rid of the GTI anyway). But things could change again by then.
At the moment (this could change again too) I am thinking about replacing it with the new MK8 Golf R coming at the end of the year, an S4 or S5 Sportback, and if I can swing it, a slightly used M3.

That Miata is turbo’d with a great driver, he holds his own in today’s power wars

Those Porsche guys were a thorn in my side all year last season, they beat me up when I was stock. They were both sharing Erics GT3 because Bob didn’t get his GT4 yet.

The event the video is from they ended up codriving each others car for no points and driving their own for points so they each got 12 runs at the course compared to my 6. You can hear my fellow Tesla drivers yelling take that porsche in the video from on course. The worst was since I had to leave on our road trip I packed up and left early after my last run and watched live timing on the Teslas web browser as I drove home as Eric had 2 runs left. I’m just glad my $60k economy car is even in the conversation battling with $130k+ Porsche GT cars.

@vbrad26 Ok that's definitely not going to replace a truck, but... Have you driven the Yaris GR? I was really really impressed and it was painful to give back the keys after wringing it in a local pass here... had the trunk been bigger (this would still be my daily driver, and I need to carry the kids and pack the car with tons of RC stuff a couple of times a month...) I would have bought one. Instant fun, incredible feelings, permanent smile, I just wanted to set my STi on fire after returning it...

But the wife wants me to buy a truck lol.

New Golf looks awesome but yeah this market is insane.

It honestly wasn’t on my list either as was driving a supercharged manual 2014 Corvette making 620rwhp then one day out of curiosity and after a massive price cut was announced I stopped by and test drove a Model 3 Performance. I couldn’t stop thinking about it after that and traded my Corvette for one a month later. The 3 is a dog above 80mph but an absolute blast below that. The Corvette didn’t have traction until 60 but was fun above that. I realized I spend a lot more time 0-80 so I’m having a blast.

My wife wants a truck but won’t go for a CyberTruck 🙁. She is very interested in the F150 Lightning though.

We Europeans watch this "my wife wants a truck just in case" thing in total disbelief 😁
