Blimey. So a full-size car lives in at least two Zip Codes at a time? And what sort of gallons per mile 'economy' figure would one return? But would be popular with immigrant smugglers over here at the moment - I imagine they could pack half a dozen in that boot.

Anyone remember this Doonesbury series of cartoons? One of Clyde's arguments for buying a full-size car was "Accident happen in the next county."

My uncle's '68 - he has two, bought the first one (white) to restore, then this one came up and he couldn't pass it up.

My other uncle has a '69 Roadrunner that he had fully restored from a guy in Pennsylvania. I don't have any pics of it right now though. It's Ice Blue with a red interior.

Oh maybe, I think the caption on the FB photo said Sebring but I hadn't paid much attention - the Ferrari took it all!

Not mine - simply adding to this wonderful thread...

My wife and I live in Sweden and have a good alternative, MK8 Fiesta ST.

Such a cool car. And reminds me of a personal favorite...

Although I am a die hard VW fan...the Lanica is much cooler.

I'd be too afraid to drive the lancia 😀 I love the VW as well. Owned a 95 Jetta VR6 and 2x diesel golfs in the US before moving to Sweden 7 years ago. The new Fiesta ST is a hoot. Too bad they don't sell it in the states.

Did you leave them alone or are you one to modify?

I kept them OEM. I was too young and broke when I had the vr6 and I used the TDIs for communiting. I lucked out, because I needed to fly back to usa and sell the golf tdi because it was just sitting in storage, but I was able to sell it back to vw because of diesel-gate, for almost the purchase price.

Yeah the MK3 Jetta/Golf/GTI will always have a place in my heart. I never owned one (thought I did have a MK2 Jetta with a VR swap) but the MK3 is where it all really started for me.
