A local online used site has this seamaster for sale. Was wondering if I could get an authenticity check and maybe a good estimated evaluation from my lovely forum peeps. May be able to add a second omega to my collection!

They are going to ask you put a profile picture up. I am confused why the Seamaster is overlapping the Automatic. Any other pictures?

From the less than fabulous picture, it's a redial, walk away.

Probably no need. Looks like you got your answer - if it's authentic it is a redial (not well done) and that is where most the value is. Save your money for a nicer piece!

Probably real but certainly not one you want to buy...

That's why we suggest a little research of your own. Does the online auction mention the movement or reference number? Both of those can answer the vast majority of your questions.

It's just a local classifieds ad.. the price is pretty good even for a redial but yeah I might save for a better piece. (I could get it close to $200 USD) I'll do some research and if anything comes from it I'll get back to you all

Sorry, but I have to disagree with the others. The dial looks original despite the odd placement of the Seamaster. This particular watch also looks like the same one sold by a dealer friend last year. Comparison between the watch in question and another Seamaster font from a watch I owned. The subdial looks sharp and the aged lume is also a good sign.

I wonder if the one posted is a US model as I noticed that the fonts are sometimes a little different and spaced differently... Also, $200 is a good buy even if refinished!

I agree. If you don't want it, send it my way.

The AUTOMATIC script in the OP watch seems to have pointy "A"s? Or no? Other than that everything seems identical.

The low resolution could make it look pointy. This is the picture I grabbed from the dealer's Instagram and which is cropped in my post. I'm fairly sure it's the same watch, down to the strap.

Thanks guys! If it's refinished I'll be asking for a great deal but if it's all original I think I won't be able to talk him down much from his asking price

Which is fine since it's a steal if it's not redialed, and a decent deal if it is.

Messaging the guy I got the vibe he doesn't want to budge much on his list price. I thought I might be able to snag a great deal but I don't want to insult him with a low-ball offer. Could be a family piece or something.. It's listed high but hasn't sold for a while. Does anyone have an idea what a good valuation would be if it is in rough shape?
