    Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum. I would appreciate your thoughts on this watch. The seller advertises this Seamaster as a ref. 165.002 with caliber 552.

I noticed that the Omega logo on the movement does not have "1" enclosed in it. Please refer to one of the photos. Not sure if that's just the effect of lighting. Any thoughts?

    Thank you very much! $_86 (8).JPG $_86 (7).JPG $_86 (6).JPG $_86 (5).JPG $_86 (4).JPG $_86 (3).JPG $_86 (2).JPG $_86 (1).JPG $_86.JPG

Looks OK to me. Only thing a little fishy is that the movement is pretty worn compared to how clean case/dial/hands are. Maybe it got a cosmetic makeover but the movement got left behind..

    Thanks, Cimo!

By the way, what do you say about the lack of a number (such as "1" that I have seen in other cal. 552 watches) enclosed in the omega sign in the movement (above the numbers "552")?

As far as I know the movement can come with the 1 and without. I believe the 1 indicates it was rated a “grade 1” movement when manufactured. There are examples both ways on google so don’t let this put you off

Thanks! Just saw one without the “1”. Looks like I’ll take this then.

The 1 refers to the different length of the posts that the hands fit on, if I recall one of Al's posts a while back correctly.
