Could anyone let me know if this is authentic or if anything is off?

Hmm, is it possible to get better pics of the dial? I don't like the first n in Constellation, or the minute track around 8 o'clock

Redial, polished case and aged movement. Not a good example.

What about this? And does anyone know if you can repair gold plating on lugs? As I'm desperate for a black waffle example. And they're getting v scarce!

Again, I can't really do much better with the pictures! :(

They polished it so much they went right through the gold cap. Idiots. The only way to "fix" it is to have the whole case plated. Pass on that watch, and that seller completely.

I presume he means the bumper. Sorry, I wrote that In a hurry!

If you look at the bottom left picture..the top of one the lugs is worn..I wondered if it was fixable..it might be that noticeable up close..

Yes, the gold capped bumper with the steel showing on the lugs.

Neither of these watches are one of a kind. No shortage of either so take your time.

Now I get it - I've heard other members say the same thing about the UK. Most of us around here have owned or still own a black waffle dial, either a 355 in a 2757 or a 353 in a 2627.

I wonder why? Do you think they were only created for the US markets? I have definitely noticed some variation in omegas particularly between UK And US. The thing that is interesting is that I never see one for sale in the US either so people must be hanging on to them. When they are for sale they seem to be £500+ - guess its just my relative lack of experience..sigh*

There were a lot of them around a while back. Kyle & I flipped a couple, Steve / cicindela owns one, Mike / MSNWatch owns several black waffles from the Constellation and Seamaster line, and Justing / chiko7734 has one or two. I know I've seen a few others too. They sell for anywhere from $400 (£250) to $700 (£435) depending on condition.

For me, black waffle connies are very uncommon and one to collect. They are of course also more expensive. The seamaster bumper versions (non-chronometre) are relatively easier to find and there are enough out there that you should wait for a better example to come up. These dials also are better preserved than their black non-waffle counterparts from the same era - perhaps it was the quality of the lacquer or the paints used. And don't neglect the white waffle dials also - I think these are particularly charming especially when paired with steel/white gold markers.

-Thanks for that! Could you provide some pictures of the non chronometers and chronometers? I will keep my eyes open for the waffle/crosshairs bumper either 353 or 354's...

    Here's a 354 Square, currently at the watchmaker's place:

Black 355s, still have the second one.

I don't have any Seamaster Chronometre waffles, although I'm wearing a Constellation 354 with a waffle dial at the moment .
