There seems to be a comma after AUDEMARS, which is odd. And honestly, the printing looks a bit crude. Have you looked at the movement?

I agree with your latter point, Dan, but expect that the re-dialer was basing his work on an older template, which did employ the (odd) comma.

To be clear, the signatures on vintage Audemars were inconsistent, and, in some cases, not of the quality that would normally be expected of a high-end manufacturer. However, in this instance, the quality of the lettering, especially that of the E in PIGUET, suggests strongly that it is a redial.

Hi Tony, I was looking a lot of examples of watches Audemars at that times (1945-1955) and has the coma after Audemars, and the Roman numbers are very well delineated for the size of the watch 32.5 mm, thats make me believe that the dial is original,,but...馃憥

thanks both for taking the time to look at the photos

The photos that you provided are not ideal for confident assessments, and there could be distortions in this one, but the aforementioned quality of the E, and what appears to be inordinate space between the E and V, both suggest a redial to my eye.

However, I have seen some original AP signatures that were surprisingly dubious.

Another problem is that there were typically accents above the E in GENEVE, and especially in the earlier examples.
