http://www.arthurjohnson.co.uk/Catimages/0722/THA932.jpg I'm not too au fait with inserting photos in these forums, but that link above should get you to what I thought was a fairly interesting tank. It's circa 1930, with a double signed OWC/Tissot dial. I've never seen a tank that was double signed like that (which might not mean much). Seeing as the hands are noted as "loose" (which I read as floating inside the case somewhere); the crown is badly rubbed; the dial is tired; the movement untested ... and the list goes on, I think even the min £200 estimate is optimistic .... but maybe this is even rarer or more interesting than I thought? Lot 932 if you want a better look: http://www.arthurjohnson.co.uk/catalogues/catalogues/sale/0722/cat/S2?pg=14
You may know that Omega and Tissot were sister companies, together with Lemania, in the holding company Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère (SSIH). Co-branded Omega/Tissot dials were sold in the Brazilian market from 1935 until the 1950s, when the brands reverted to their respective identities. With a little bit of searching you can find similar examples, such as these (with articulating lugs): (thanks) (thanks)
I can have a look at this in the flesh for any interested parties as I live 5 minutes walk away from them
The main viewing was today, Tom, but you can also view first thing in the morning. It's local to me too so we must be neighbours.
I wouldn't be averse to a little watch talk over a pint or more .... do we have many Nottingham members here?
Sounds good, I'm in. Bridgford, there are a few OF members in Notts so will see if I can coralle a few together
