Super interesting find, thank you for the link! I downloaded the PDF right away.

It's a great collection to leave behind at age 91, so many different watches, spread over such a vast amount of time. Here was a collector who loved Omega, and pretty much all of it. Well, if not all, then certainly a wide range of Omega's history.

Thanks for posting Mark, that is a very broad range of watches in this collection.

prices seem pretty low?? But this is before buyers fees so maybe not. Your impressions on realized prices?

Poorly marketed so basically not very visible. Furthermore much niche products (like the clocks) with a very shallow market which makes that people can basically choose what they want. You see that more often with theme auctions. The 2 table clocks (ref 5008 and 5011, lord knows what the difference is) did not make the reserve which was most likely the lower estimate (and that amount was reasonable).

Pieces like the golden flightmaster should have gone to one of the major auction houses.

Very nicely put together catalogue, I especially like the layout with all the period advertising and the last pages with all the movements there together.

I was watching quite a few of these lots and it was weird auction with both high and low outliers.

Lot 105, the amazing 18kt Flighmaster on bracelet went cheap at €21.5K and
Lot 89 the ugly looking quartz Recife went for an unbelievable €5.8K 😬
Lot 30 passed Cloissone Enamel (estimate €20-40K)
Lot 134 Le Magique €4500

I pulled a couple out:

Lot 185 Omega Clock Ref 5583 - €325

Lot 207 Omega Watchmakers cabinet with branding - €220

What a cool subject for an auction. I’m surprised some of those didn’t go for more. Were the hammer prices/passes just a sign of the times? A weak auction house? Less-than-stellar examples?

The collection was amazing, with lots of beautiful watches!

I was thinking of doing a post about this auction, but @Mark020 managed to do this before me!
😁

I followed the auction, and the people working there were maybe not the most skilled regarding Omegas, but they did their best!
They had a few Speedys, but the estimate on most of them were way to high!
It was very amusing to hear them call out - Un belle Speedmaster!! Oui oui - Très bien Moonwatch..

But there where some lovey Ploprofs, Seamaster 60`s and 120´s!

And an abused 2913-3 (sadly…)!
And the Flightmaster….WOW!

I did though manage to snag a Speedy (report on that one in the future…😉), and some cool books!

Very nice auction, I was also following a few lots. I hadn’t seen the catalogue though, and it’s absolutely lovely with all the old ads.

Should have bid for the deluxe 2699!

Attached the catalogue for posterity!
