To find an original replacement - near impossible unless you chance on one on ebay usually as part of a beat up example. And you can always place a notice here in the WTB section just in case a member has one that they are willing to part with. If you want a caseback to make the watch usable you can try and get a Priek caseback or something similar.

The Priek is actually a pretty good idea if they fit, probably won't make it very anti-magnetic anymore but I doubt you'll be working in a power plant with it anyway.

I don't think the Preik will fit a 291x case. They are different from 2988+ cases, aren't they? Priek says their cases don't fit 2998s, but I'm pretty sure that some members have them fitted.

It's a good idea to keep track on what's happening on ebay. Every now and then new replacement casebacks with laser etched 2914-6 on the inside pop up and are sold quite cheap.
