A short follow-up. As I, naturally, haven't received the watch yet, I can't comment on the state of it, just that the communications with the seller was really good. Seems like a nice guy, and it turned out the he has spent af lot of summers here in Denmark, and last year even had his summer holiday with his family 30 minutes from where I live. We could have had bumped into each other in the street, for all I know. Just goes to show how small a world it really is, when a man from Switzerland comments on the local foods of your home town.

Pretty excited about the watch now, and I believe that the mechanical issue it has can be overcome by a decent service.

Now, the waiting begins...

Finally, arrival!

It's just bloody good-looking! It's surprisingly hefty (a good thing) and has very few cosmetic issues (a VERY good thing!), but the chronograph suffers from resetting issues. As @Hijak said, it's clearly not a redial and in the flesh it is really something! Looking at the photos in the listing, I was certain that one of the pushers had been replaced with a different type, but hands-on I cannot discern anything off... The patina on the markers is sweet and after being subjected to some LED lighting for some time, they glow briefly.

I haven't had it opened yet, and I will have to book an appointment with my watchmaker, but... I'm very happy 馃榾

Well, since I got it at around 15:40 today, it only gave me approximately 30 minutes of daylight to play with. And some minutes were spent running excitedly around in the house 馃榿

I actually ended up sending him three different offers and he accepted the lowest one 馃槈

Ha! I don't think that's how negotiating is supposed to work! Beautiful watch.

I had an even weirder experience a few weeks ago, where I bid EUR 2420 for a watch and the seller replied with a counter-offer of EUR 2200...

Congrats on a very clean and cool watch!
Any ref number on the inside of the case back?

There is a general misconception that only Omega branded CH27 had "high" finish.
What finish is "superior" may also be debated but, true to tradition, Omega normally had their movement plates gilded. No other real difference is known to me.
Here is a Meylan branded one.
Meylan was a family name connected to Lemania, and the name of a Swiss controlled US (NJ) importer of stop watches/chronographs.

Thanks! Just curious and trying to piece together which ones was "all Lemania", and which was cased in their own made cases.
Several Omega variants with the cal 321 have Lemania/Omega double referenced cases.
At least in the case of Omega it seems the chronographs came completely assembled, case, dial and all, from Lemania.
This is also true for 1960s (and perhaps earlier) Speedmasters it seems.
